A very warm welcome greats all visitors to The Pound Inn. Circa 1649 , we are situated in the village of Coxley , 2 miles from Wells , England's smallest city. We offer fresh food available everyday , using fresh meat and fish. No frozen meat , fish or vegetables are used in our cuisine We also offer a good slection of beers , wines and lagers.Our aim is to ensure you enjoy every minute of your stay with us It is an ideal base to visit the many attractions in the area , all within easy reach. You will find Glastonbury (5 miles) , Cheddar (6 miles) , and the Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet (7 miles). With plenty to do , clay shooting , point to point racing , Taunton and Wincanton racing events , go-karting , golf , and great walks with spectacular scenery , you will definately not be bored. Great shopping can be found at Street , home of Clark's Village , oulet stores. Bed and Breakfast is available in clean , warm and comfortable en-suite rooms. All non-smoking. A separate entrance to the accommodation allows you are to come and go as you please , throughout your stay , with no worries of time to be in , and a great English breakfast sets you up for the day Families with children are most welcome. Dogs are allowed in the bar but only by prior arrangement in the rooms. We have live music featuring both local and more well known bands , on some Friday nights , finishing at midnight. Sunday Carvery offers a choice of Devon Red Beef , Organic Pork and Free range Chicken , accompanied by Fresh Seasonal Vegetables. Specialities in the week are Chef's own Southern Fried Chicken on Wednesday and Thursday and Fish and Chips on Thursday evenings. We use only free range chicken and fresh fish in all our cooking. All our meat is British and comes mostly from Devon farms Your hosts , Terry and Anne O'Connell , and all the staff , welcome you and invite you to spend time relaxing in this lovely traditional English public house.
